AP Art Studio includes AP Drawing, AP 2-D Art and Design, and AP 3-D Art and Design. These are advanced studio art courses designed for art students who wish to pursue college level studies while in high school. Emphasis will be on focused investigation into a thematic approach where fresh and original connections are made between concepts and materials. AP Art Studio invites students to more deeply investigate the cultural, historical, and aesthetic aspects of art through independent study, verbal and written commentaries, and sketchbook exploration that will foster effective critical observation. Students will be challenged to solve complex problems in Sustained and Selected pieces of artwork and encouraged to make reflective personal visual statements during and after the process.
