Visual Arts engages the soul and the mind, while exposing students to the best thinking and analysis of the past and present, connecting the many areas of study and human experience through active, individual and collaborative production and interpretation. Students who are passionate and courageous about artistic communication of their ideas and whose curiosity extends from self to encompass the world with all of its cultures, history, and traditions will find this class engaging. Those who value the visual arts and know it has the power to awaken awareness, embody criticism, and change narrative will enjoy delving into classroom conversations and discussions with their peers. Students who enjoy challenging creative boundaries and developing problem-solving and divergent thinking skills while working towards technical proficiency and confidence as art-makers will appreciate the rigor of inquiry and creating in this course. And finally, Our Creator is also invited into the Visual Arts classroom to do life together with students as they create and inquire, explore, appreciate, respect, and respond to art perspectives of one another and those around the world.
